last night @phaltu discovered that setting your font to comic sans in google docs improves writing speed and creativity by an insane amount. “no” i said and “die” but then i tried it and god. i wish it wasn’t this way. i wish it wasn’t true. i wish i could protect you all from this but it’s real.
something about this font is so disarming. something about this font lets you look past the shape of the words and into their soul. i’ve never written so much as i did last night, on my phone, at 2am, in comic sans.
if you have writer’s block. if you lack inspiration. if you need this. don’t be afraid to use it. sometimes the things we find most horrifying are also the things we need the most. trust me. let comic sans into your life.
introduced me to this trick and it works??? I’ve written copious amounts of smut in this godforsaken font. Idk why it works. I hate it so much. As a graphic designer its a literal nightmare of a font. As a font snob there is so much WRONG with it idk how it ever became a font. But as a writer…. It works. It really fucking works. Wanna increase your productivity in writing? Make it comic sans. Writing something you have no inspiration for? Comic sans. Need to get an extra boost of humor? Comic sans. Can’t get that hot and heavy smut scene out how you want it? Comic sans has your back. It’s utterly stupid and ridiculous but it works.

Technical Editing professor gave us this interesting and very helpful tip–when editing your own work, switch the font to Comic Sans. You’ll be noticing mistakes a lot faster than if you stick with your regular font because you’re so used to it. Seriously, give it a shot.

I just tried this and knocked out an entire page of a video script I wanted to work on?? The fuck? Alright Comic Sans, I won’t knock you so much anymore.
I mean, I knew that for a while, but today the site REALLY took a huge shit on most of the people who use it. On December 17th, Tumblr is planning to remove and ban all 18+ adult content. So because of that, a LOT of NSFW artists and writers are gonna lost a shit-ton of publicity and revanue. Even though I can’t say [i]I[/i] use Tumblr that much to advertise my stories, I can safely say that it’s a big factor for tons of others.
So in anticipation for this, I kindly encourage any and all of you to check out your favorite artists on Tumblr, and see if they have alternate social media accounts. For example, my main website for posting content is on my official Fimfiction account. I use Twitter whenever I can (but I tend to keep [i]that [/i]SFW), and I also have accounts on SoFurry, Patreon, and Ko-Fi. Either way, exposure and publicity are really important to so many content creators, so I have to kindly encourage any and all of you to show your support for your favorite writers/artists whenever you can.
The city of Parma, Missouri, has seen mass resignations
among the local police force after the city’s first black female
mayor, Tyrus Byrd, was sworn in on Tuesday. Five of the force’s six officers handed in their resignations to the outgoing mayor — but they weren’t the only ones to quit on the new mayor.
Beyond microaggressions.
This is what black women have to deal with in any professional situation. This is the most extreme, but we are constantly having to prove our competence.
I feel for this woman. I really do.
But those cops who are such racist pieces of shit they refuse to work for a Black woman? Good riddance. Mayor Byrd and the whole community will be better off without them in positions of authority.
Wait, it’s bigger than this. This mayor ran on an anti-corruption platform, and there were a total of twenty people who resigned from various parts of the city - city attorney, police, water supervision. It’s suspected that they were all linked to the previous mayor and were part of the corruption she was campaigning against. Citizens have been complaining for years about the corruption with the previous Mayor Randall, and it’s suspected that these resignations were from his cronies.
Which makes her the one of the most effective mayors in the U.S. simply by being elected.
Going through the records to figure out just how corrupt/racist/abusive they were before she stepped into Office and handing out indictments/canceling pensions is gonna be hard enough. But, at least, now she won’t have to fire their asses.
